title   Korea-Russia route/ April export volume average ye

Korea''s weekly shipment of export containers to Russia''s Vladivostok
and Vostochini in April is at an average level last year. According
to the shipping companies, the weekly container shipment from Busan
to Vladivostok and Vostochini in Russia as of Wednesday was about
3,500 TEUs, similar to last year''s average. Concerns are rising that
the congestion of the Korea-Russia route may surface.

Freight has continued to be similar to last month''s. As of
Wednesday, shipping fares for Russia''s Vladivostok and Vostochini
routes from South Korea were COC (Container-owned containers) It
forms $350 to $450 per TEU as the benchmark. The SOC (SHC) is higher
than the terminal operation fee (THC). Oil surcharges are collected
as ''total freight'' (all-inrate) combined with sea freight

The rate of incineration (carriage) of the carriers on this route
was about 80 to 90 percent. Some of the shipping lines reportedly
stayed in the 60 percent range.

Pesco, Russia''s largest flag carrier, will reshuffle its existing
China-Korea-Russia service with Hyundai Merchant Marine starting
next month to greet shippers with services to and from Busan-Russia.
The two companies will deploy one 1,100 TEU-class vessel from May.
